Maddie is from New York studying Environmental Science and Food Systems. Before moving to the PNW the only forests she knew were concrete jungles so she’s been thoroughly enjoying her time in the outdoors here and is totally stoked to be a new trip lead! Maddie is an avid fan of foraging, pushing the limits on what foods can be dehydrated for her backpacking trips and making her own pickles. Some of her best talents include her ability to get distracted on hikes while looking at mushrooms, always trying to find the coolest rock and living by the motto “everything is edible at least once”.
